David M. Schwartz was named Chair of the Brooklyn Bar Association’s Criminal Court of the City of New York Committee for 2008-2009. Schwartz, who was previously Vice Chair of the committee, is also a board member of the Brooklyn Bar.
Schwartz, who served as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County from 1993 through 1997, has spent his entire career as a litigator. He has also been actively involved with the political landscape in New York State. He is a regular guest legal commentator for the Fox News Channel, MSNBC, WABC News, Fox Morning Show, Court TV and for the ESPN morning show, providing legal analysis on criminal cases, constitutional legal issues and civil cases.
Schwartz was appointed by the New York State Senate as a Commissioner on the Commission on Judicial Nomination, which nominates Justices to the NYS Court of Appeals. He is also a board member of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Inspector General Management Advisory Board; a board member of the New York Javits Convention Center Operating Corporation; a member of the American Bar, New York State Bar and Nassau County Bar Associations; and a board member of the Criminal Section representing the Second Judicial Department.
